Preparing for a Spring Visit

  • The gardens encompass approximately 50 acres. While the duration of your visit can vary, we recommend you allow at least one hour.
  • All visitors must sign-in at the Andrews Visitor and Education Center, located at the end of the drive. No admission is allowed after 3:00 pm, and the parking lot gate closes at 4:00 pm.
  • Free parking is provided. RVs and larger vehicles should use the parking lot left of the circular drive.
  • Our Visitor’s Guide is designed for a self-guided tour. Most of the garden is ADA-accessible with either brick or crushed stone paths. There are a few areas with grass or mulched pathways. The garden has benches along the paths and shaded areas to rest and enjoy the views.
  • Dress appropriately for Savannah’s variable Spring temperatures, with cool morning and warm afternoon. Light-colored clothing and comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended.
  • If you’re prone to sunburn or attract mosquitos, don’t forget sunscreen or insect repellent.
  • An umbrella can serve double-duty: shade in the full sun areas and protection from pop-up rain events.
  • Water dispensers are available to fill your reusable water containers. Bottled water and sodas are available for purchase in the gift shop. No snacks are available for purchase.
  • Picnics are allowed in the designated areas. We ask that all trash be placed in receptacles or taken with you.

Photography Policy

Taking photos of your family members and friends for the purpose of documenting your visit is allowed and encouraged. However, if the purpose of your visit is to take professional photographs using the Gardens as a backdrop, a $50.00 fee and signed waiver are required (available at the Admissions Window). No appointments are necessary.
