11:00 AM – 4:00PM Vendors will be open to the public. Come find the next item for your garden! Learn more about your local horticulture and plant-centered societies. **Full vendor list avaliable at bottom of the page.

Children’s Garden Scavenger Hunt Presented by Friends of the Coastal Gardens

Children will search the garden for clues to write out a garden inspiration.

Creature Feature: Backyard Reptiles Presented by UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant

“Stop by the creature feature table to meet and interact with live reptiles commonly found on the Georgia Coast. Join educators for talks throughout the day to learn more about these incredible animals and ideas for gardening with wildlife in mind.”

The Sunflower Project Presented by Ginger Fawcett of Liquid Ginger and Susan G. Komen Class of 2018 BigWig

In some Native American tribes, the sunflower is a sign of courage. That is the hope for this project. Courage, awareness, and memorial. A beautiful sea of sunflowers dedicated to those who fought, continue to fight, and the family and friends that has suffered from breast cancer.

Join us to hand pack and purchase seeds in honor of your loved one. The seeds will be held for us at the garden, until June when we join to plant the seeds in dedication.

2:00 PM Don’t miss local favorite Liquid Ginger as they join us for an acoustic set.


11:00 AM – 2:00PM Join us for tasty treats from Blowin’ Smoke Food Truck, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, and For Real Dough!

11:30 AM Growning Your Own Tea with Camellia Sinensis – Debbie Odom, Gene’s Nursery

“Tea is the world’s 2nd most consumed beverage, next to only water, but did you know that the tea we drink is made from the leaves of a Camellia? This program will introduce the Tea Plant and you’ll learn how it’s related to our beloved Camellias, how it came to the USA and how your whole family can benefit from and enjoy Growing Your Own Tea!”

Kid’s Kitchen presented by Friends of the Coastal Gardens

“Children will assemble and bake their own personal pizza and make other spooky treats. Sessions at 11:30 and 12:30, registration is not required but encouraged to allow for ample supplies (additional sessions can be added if needed), visit to register.”


12:00 PM – 2:00PM Come see Mark Robinson from 98.7 The River! He will being remote broadcasting from the Gardens and you may just be able to win ticket to this year’s December Nights and Holiday Lights!


1:00 PM Pollinator Conservation: Bringing Bees, Butterflies and Beauty in Gardens and Landscapes – Keren Giovengo, EcoScapes Program Manager UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant

“Come learn about the diversity and importance of nature pollinators and how to select, source, and design pollinator-friendly native plants and habits.”


2:30 PM: Flavored Vinegars – Jackie Ogden, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent UGA Extension – Chatham County

“Vinegars garnished with sprigs of herbs or a layer of berries are a hot “splash” right now! Cooking at home is also enlivened by tantalizing tastes from the blending of flavors with vinegar. Jackei will introduce you to food safety best practices about easy and safe flavored vinegars to make at home.”
